RUN OFF BARRA

The 'run-off' would have to be one of the bests parts of Top End fishing. On this trip we went to the Mary river and tried some of the spots that usually guarantee some action but the day was very slow and nothing was happening, so we decided to go to a spot we hadn't really worked out yet. After a while of no action, we started catching a few Tarpon followed by a couple of Saratoga, then a nice sized Barra followed my lure in. It had a go but didn't hook up, so I repeated my cast and hooked up this time. The Barra put up a good fight and we got it in the net with the lure just in its mouth. So we had finally worked out this spot and it saved the day.
